KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.00 g, 12 h), a contemporary imitation on an issue from Aspendos, CY 3 = 210/09. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞAИΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle with closed wings in right; to left, ΑΣ; below throne, Γ (date). Cf. Price 2880 (for prototype). Nicely toned . The obverse double struck and with minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
